Pascal was wrong. Humanity’s problems don’t stem from man’s inability to sit quietly in a room alone.
Man is perfectly capable of sitting quietly alone. Being solitary, exclusionary. Derogatory.
Man doesn’t need any more practice sitting quietly alone.
Humanity’s problems stem from man’s inability to be there for one another. With one another. Because of one another.
That’s where man needs practice.
Community.
Took well into my 40s to fully realize this. But I’m glad I’m here now.
