I had a whole retort ready in my brain for your argument, but then I re-read and scrapped everything. I do think one of the core responsibilities of a primus — I won't say 'leader' or 'boss' or 'manager' because those terms aren't interchangeable — is to engage our people. Motivation (especially these days) can sometimes be an exercise in simply directing (or re-directing) our people during a time of great stress and distraction.
