I attended a workshop a couple years ago where Price (and the ex-wife and brother stories) were brought up under the guise of "how much bad are we willing to allow if belied by some modicum of good?" Most in the crowd hadn't heard of the negative stories, and I was shocked by how many progressive-leaning people in the room were fine with "a little bit of dirt" if it meant a rising tide for others.
